Ven Thangaraj - CTO
With nearly 20 years of experience in the biomedical field, Ven Thangaraj has an extensive background working with companies that focus on medical technology and invest in new company ventures. Ven was the founder of EnMed in 1999, a technology solutions company that built one of the world's first e-Clinical platforms to help pharmaceutical and medical device companies conduct clinical trials in the EDC format. EnMed and its products merged into Acceliant, the healthcare technologies division of Trianz.
Helping clients in the healthcare industry is a passion for Ven. Over the past two decades, he has envisioned and developed multiple platforms to aid in clinical trials, medical image processing, medical imaging management, and electronic commerce. Ven has led development of online software for the post-processing of large medical data sets, specializing in corporate database and intranet design, imaging applications development, and systems integration. His significant knowledge and specialized skills in information management and image processing have been demonstrated throughout his career as exemplified by his consultancy positions at WorldCare, Inc., Acusphere, Inc., EPIX Medical, Inc., and Beth Israel Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts.
As the CTO of Acceliant, Ven is the architect behind the company's vision to lead the industry through technological innovation. He oversees all R&D activities and guides engineering teams at Acceliant.
Ven holds a B.S. degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, Illinois and a second B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Throughout his career, Ven has authored numerous scientific articles and abstracts. He is a 2012 recipient of the Frost & Sullivan Award for technological innovation in the healthcare industry.
